Critical Role Season Four Reveals the Warriors Group
Since the launch of Campaign 4, recently appointed game master Brennan Lee Mulligan has kept fans guessing with deep backstory, a wide array of personalities, and a thrilling plot showcasing celestial beings, evil spirits, and dark forces growing in influence within the city.
Note: Revealing details for the latest installment of this adventure lie ahead.
The Warrior Group Introduced
Episode 3 ended with a huge suspense moment and presented the first table of adventurers who will branch out from the primary party to embark on their own adventure, separate from the remaining groups.
The combat-focused team includes Teor (brought to life by Travis Willingham), Thimble (the talented performer), the fierce warrior (Whitney Moore), Wicander (the player), and Kattigan (Robbie Daymond).
Why Split the Party?
With an extensive roster, it was evident from the beginning that having everyone at a single group would be unworkable.
Hence, the opening chapters of Campaign 4 serve as an Introduction, intertwining the individual narratives before dividing into three separate parties: Warriors, Planners, and Questers.
The Nature of the Soldiers Table
According to the DM, the combat-focused party is for adventurers who are drawn to a traditionally charged battle-oriented narrative style where diplomatic options are few and far between.
Initially, figures such as the squeamish cleric Wicander Halovar might look mismatched, but the events of the latest installment show why these five characters are perfectly fit for the Soldiers table.
Why They Must Go
To begin with, the party understands precisely where to go next after a brutal first encounter with the enemy group.
An old friend of Thjazi Fang—whose passing initiated the narrative’s action—manipulated The Crow Keepers for his own means, invading the hidden lair, assaulting the rogue, and swiping all the magical artifacts to dispose of.
Casimir then settled his obligations and ran away to a Halovar stronghouse in the remote area, beyond the city, with Teor’s brother hot on his heels.
Character Drivers
Secondly, each adventurer has a specific drive to leave the city the metropolitan area:
- The agile hero, as Thjazi’s partner and closest confidant, wants vengeance.
- The adventurer is familiar with the region and advises that it is a hostile location.
- The warrior and Wicander, having disobeyed his family’s wishes to eliminate the target and instead freed him, have no other options.
- Yet, their position as key figures in House Halovar could enable the group access locations they normally couldn’t.
- Furthermore, The grateful character vowed a unbreakable promise to Wicander for his deliverance and will now follow him wherever.
Pursued by Authorities
Lastly, all of them are hunted by the powers that control the city for a variety of reasons, making remaining behind no longer safe:
- The rogue and The character are notorious outlaws.
- The strong figure and The cleric turned against the influential house and the horde of evil beings they are allied with.
- The target is targeted for elimination by the family.
This means them no alternative but to journey toward the remote area in pursuit of the traitor.

Based on episode three’s Cooldown, we learn that the warrior group will be absent next week, leaving the rest of the players to form the Explorers and Strategists groups.
