Two Arrests in the Aftermath of London Heathrow Irritant Spray Incident
An additional two individuals have been arrested in connection with a robbery at London's Heathrow Airport where 21 people sustained injuries by what is thought to be pepper spray, as stated by law enforcement.
A 24-year-old man, was taken into custody in Lambeth on suspicion of theft and assault and a woman, 23 was arrested on suspicion of conspiring to commit a robbery. Both individuals are still being held, authorities confirmed.
These detentions follow an investigation into an attack at the multi-storey car park at Heathrow's Terminal 3 this past Sunday. Prior to the attack, a pair of female travelers had stolen from them their luggage upon exiting a parking garage elevator.
A three-year-old girl was one of the those hurt during the incident. Five people were taken to the hospital for treatment and have since been discharged.
Officers arrested a man in his thirties on suspicion of theft and assault close to the location. He has since been released under investigation as the investigation proceeds.
Authorities were called at approximately 8:10 in the morning GMT following reports of a number of people injured by an irritating chemical believed to be an irritant spray.
The assault - which police said was a standalone incident and not being treated as an act of terror - caused delays to rail services and the temporary shutdown of the main airport tunnel and the T3 parking facility briefly.
